Inca Trail Tour

You can have one of the most fascinating experiences in Peru and follow the real Inca's trail through mysterious mountains with magical scenery. Four days of hiking will lead you to the once hidden city of Machu Picchu perhaps the most extraordinary archeological site in the world. This trek will be an extraordinary experience that you will never forget. Our goal is to provide you with the best and most knowledgeable English speaking guides so that you will experience the closest possible understanding of Inca life as it existed in Peru.

Important information: This tour will be adapted to your exact dates and can be customized to meet all your interests and needs. However please keep in mind that only 500 Inca Trail permits are issued per day (trek permits are also required for the porters and cooks) so it is necessary to make a trek reservation as far ahead as possible.
From December to March: 9 weeks in advance.
From April to November: 12 weeks in advance.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Lima (500 ft)

At your arrival at Lima airport (at any time), you will be met by one of our representatives and driven to your hotel in Miraflores, the safest and nice area of the city.

Day 2: Flight Lima - Cusco (1.10 hour)

Am. Transfer from your Hotel to the airport for flight to Cusco
Am. Arrival at Cusco airport & transfer to your Hotel. *Cusco (11,150 ft).

Day 3: Free day in Cusco. Briefing for the inca Trail

Day 4: Star Inca trail

Early morning: we will pick you up from your hotel and drive through the Sacred Valley until km 82, the starting point of the Inca Trail where our native Quechua Porters will be waiting for us to go through eucalyptus groves to the ruins of Patallaqta. Continuing on our way we have amazing views of the Vilcanota Mountain Range and the snow-capped peak Veronica. Later, we pass the indigenous community of Wayllabamba close to our first campsite.

Day 5: Dead Woman Pass

After an Andean dawn, we go through the cloud forest. On this day you will meet the Dead Woman Pass (13,734 feet), the highest point of the Trail. We want to get there before the sun sets, but before we do, we stop in Llulluchapampa (12,589.5 ft.), where our guide tells us the story of the name of this place. Now we are close to reaching the highest point of our adventure, once we are on the top we take a deserved break. A delicious refreshing Peruvian Pisco is served to help you keep warm. From here you will have an impressive view of our route to Paqaymayu, our next camp site. Now we start to descend by huge rock steps, slowly, and carefully.

Day 6: Wiñaywayna

Today starts one of the most interesting parts of the Trail. The Forest forms green tunnels along the way turning it into fantasy walkways. Beautiful orchids start to appear; it is so impressive how the Incas built these roads along the mountains and humid forest. We continue our trek among the great Inca works, Runkurakay ruins (12,436 feet), descending upon the Inca Complex of Sayaqmarka (11,772 feet) and visiting the archaeological center of Phuyupatamarka (11,722 feet), a strategic point with a beautiful view. Finally, we camp at Wiñaywayna (8,829 feet), the most spectacular archaeological complex of the whole Trek.

Day 7: Guided Tour of Machu Picchu

Very early morning, after having left Wiñaywayna, we will be arriving at Inti Punku (Sun-gate) from where we will have the most amazing picture of Machu picchu; then we arrive in the Lost City itself for a guided tour of this spectacular lost city.
Afternoon: we take the bus Aguas Calientes and board the train.
Pm. We take the train back to Cusco & transfer to your Hotel in Cuzco.

Day 8: Flight Cusco - Lima

Morning: Transfer from your Hotel to Cusco airport for flight to Lima.
Arrival at Lima Airport and private transfer to your hotel in the bustling, cosmopolitan Miraflores area of the city. Depending on flight times, you may be want to enjoy an evening meal overlooking the elegant Parque Kennedy, go shopping in Larco Mar (one of the most beautiful shopping centers in the world) located by the Pacific ocean; or you may wish take a stroll down the beach.
